Over £2.7k raised for Pancreatic Cancer UK

On Thursday 21st November, St. Pancras teamed up with the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK for the third year running.

The partnership aims to raise awareness of an underfunded disease; approximately 10,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year, yet pancreatic cancer receives just 2.1% of UK's cancer research spend annually, and unfortunately survival rates of the disease hasn't changed much in the last 50 years.

Following tradition, we thought we would play around with a common misspelling (...and mispronunciation) of the station's name and for the day the station officially changed its name to 'St. Pancreas International'... catchy!

Throughout the day the fantastic Pancreatic Cancer UK team collected donations and talked to station visitors more about the work they do. Visitors also got the chance to pick up a special 'St. Pancreas' travelcard holder.

Later in the evening, the very talented Popchoir, famous for fusing their love of singing with pop music, treated passers-by to some outstanding renditions.

Thanks to kind donations, this year Pancreatic Cancer UK raised £2,751.04... Thanks for all your support.
