2020 Track Record Poetry
We've teamed up with the Betjeman Poetry Prize again for a second year of Track Record, a community project in Camden which aims to give students in local schools the chance to take part in a series of poetry workshops to capture their imagination and creativity.
London-based poet Paul Lyalls – star of the BBC’s Let’s Write Poetry: The Big Slam – visited Torriano and Argyle primary schools just before the lockdown to hold poetry writing workshops with 100 Year 5 children.
On Tuesday 29 September and on the lead up to National Poetry Day, a handful of talented young poets visited St. Pancras to read out some of their latest poems, some of which are displayed on the station's iconic Grand Terrace. You can find all of the published poems in the downloadable eBook at the bottom of this page.
English poet Sir John Betjeman ran a famous campaign in the 1960's to save St. Pancras from demolition. Since the station's renovation in 2007, St. Pancras International and HS1 (the station's owners) have continued to support the arts and poetry through a number of initiatives, you can find out more about the station's connection to arts and music here.
