Lights, Camera, St. Pancras!

When it comes to breath taking filming locations in London, St. Pancras International stands tall among the stars. This iconic railway station has not only served as a bustling transportation hub but has also played a pivotal role in the world of cinema, television and music.

Harry Potter and The Flying Ford Anglia

To many St. Pancras has always been seen as a magical place; the station even made a short cameo appearance in the 2002 film, Harry Potter and the Chamber Secrets

After missing their train from Platform 9 3/4 Harry and Ron decide to make their way to the wizarding world of Hogwarts via a flying Ford Anglia. The scene starts with Harry and Ron flying over St. Pancras before catching up with the Hogwarts Express.

In case you didn't know; St. Pancras International's neighbour, King's Cross Station was also used as the filming location for the Platform 9 3/4 scenes in the Harry Potter films.

Bridget Jones Diary

St. Pancras has seen it’s fair share of romantic comedies! Fans of the endearing British character Bridget Jones will recognise the station from ‘Bridget Jones Diary’. Bridget, played by Renee Zeilweger, has an emotional reunion with her love interest, Mark Darcy, portrayed by Colin Firth, on the platform of St. Pancras. This heartfelt moment adds a touch of romance to the station’s already captivating ambiance.

The Piano

In February 2023, The Piano launched on Channel 4 where passionate amateur pianists compete for the chance of winning the opportunity of playing at Royal Festival Hall. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman and judged by Lang Lang and Mika, the first episode was held in St. Pancras International's arcade. Lang Lang returned to St. Pancras to host a surprise pop up performance on a public piano, his performance is available to watch here

Sherlock

Step into a world of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes with the critically acclaimed TV series “Sherlock”. St. Pancras International makes several appearances throughout the show, setting the stage for Holmes and Dr. Watson’s thrilling adventures. The station’s imposing façade and atmospheric interior’s add an air of mystery and intrigue to the series, leaving fans eager to solve crimes alongside their favourite detective.

The Crown Season 2

Although just a cameo, St. Pancras station featured in season 2 of the Netflix drama, The Crown, starring Claire Foy and Matt Smith. For those with a keen eye, you can spot the station briefly in this official trailer.
