St. Pancras' 2021 Festive Display: ZSL London Zoo

This year we have teamed up with the iconic ZSL London Zoo to present a family friendly festive display, bringing to life the wonderful, remarkable story of London Zoo and some of its famous residents.

To thank those who have continued to support the Zoo’s charity projects and the welfare of its animals over the last year, we have teamed up to create the traditional pop-up story book creation, featuring some familiar characters which have inspired more children’s stories than any other.

The lions, tigers, giraffes, and thousands of other animals of ZSL London Zoo have been part of London’s history for almost 200 years, and most people have their own special story about the zoo. Find out about the animals featured here, including Rainbow the Humboldt penguin and Spike the ring-tailed Lemur.

Visitors can enjoy the full effect of the lights and sounds of the Zoo’s animals as part of the display, and will even spot some additional animals around the station - as if they have leapt from the pages of the story book!

London Zoo is just a 30-minute walk away from St Pancras International and from Saturday 27 November - Monday 3 January 2022, children of all ages will be able to surround themselves with The Magic of Christmas during a trip to the outdoor attraction.

Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director at HS1, said; “The festive season is always a special time at St. Pancras International, and our festive installations have been celebrated worldwide. Many of us missed out on spending the festive period with loved ones last Christmas, so this year we decided to take a different approach to our festive display, to create something which the whole family could enjoy together, while supporting a worthy cause.

This year we announced our support of the restoration of UK peatland areas and are proud to be able to offer London Zoo a platform to celebrate, as well as raise awareness of the important causes which it supports - from global conservation to protecting the UK’s wildlife.”

Kathryn England, ZSL London Zoo's Chief Operating Officer, said: "We're excited to be celebrating the story of our iconic Zoo and its animals through this beautiful Christmas tree installation at the equally iconic St. Pancras International Station."

The festive installation is located in the station’s main concourse until January 2021 – we hope that you get a chance make some perfect Instagram moments with us.
