Mums. We Need You.

Calling all mums! Do you pride yourself in buying the perfect gifts for your friends and families? We need you!

Everyone knows Mum Knows Best, and we want you to share your infinite wisdom with the nation’s shoppers, as well as fundraise for a great charity, Women’s Aid.

The role of the official ‘Mums in Residence’ will involve helping Londoners, commuters, national and international travelers find the ideal gift for their mum ahead of Mother’s Day. You’ll be required to navigate the station, direct shoppers towards the best gifts for their mum and encourage donations to Women’s Aid.

St Pancras International is home to a host of premium shops, so from fashion and beauty and food and drink, through to technology and entertainment, there’s a gift for every mum out there.

We’re recruiting volunteer ‘Mums in Residence’ for the following date options:

  • Saturday 23rd March -  10am (for briefing), 11am start – 3pm finish
  • Thursday 28th March - 5pm (for briefing), 5:30pm start – 7.30pm finish
  • Friday 29th March - 5pm (for briefing), 5:30pm start – 7.30pm finish

St Pancras will donate to Women’s Aid for every mum who volunteers for the role.

A £20 St Pancras International Gift Card will be provided to every volunteer to purchase lunch and refreshments and they’ll also be equipped with some official ‘Mums in Residence’ gear for the day too.

How to apply?

Applicants should contact hs1mums@clarioncomms.co.uk by Friday 15th March stating why they’d like to become a Mum in Residence, including an outline of their shopping experience and availability for the dates above. Successful applicants will be contacted the following week to confirm their place and arrangements.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Mums in Residence St Pancras International team!

One Guilt Free Salad To Go, Please!

When looking for a lunchtime alternative, what can be better than a lunch that's good for you and good for the planet?

Chop'd have always been passionate about sustainability and responsible sourcing; initially they introduced keepie salad bowls and coffee cups, so it comes as no surprise to hear about their next pioneering step.

Having worked for years with their manufacturer, driving positive steps towards a more environmentally-friendly solution, at the beginning of this year Chop'd introduced the first 100% recycled plastic salad bowl, which is also 100% recyclable.

A delicious salad is a fresh guilt-free lunchtime choice, and now it really is guilt-free.

Find Chop'd in the station's Arcade.

Pasta, Anyone?

The spring and Italian food seem to go hand-in-hand somehow, there's something about the season that makes us long for those tasty pasta dishes - fresh ingredients and rich in flavours.

In terms of finding good Italian food in Kings Cross, you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere more authentic and wallet-friendly than Carluccio's at St. Pancras.

If you couple the delicious cuisine with the setting, you really do have something special on your hands; situated on the Grand Terrace under the station's iconic roof, a beautiful spring time sun-trap, and set against romantic backdrop of the Eurostar platforms.

Don't take our word for it, Tania from The London Thing recently paid Carluccio's a visit, read her blog here.

Fancy bringing a little bit of Italy to your kitchen? Carluccio's St. Pancras also have a shop, you can pick up everything for your favourite recipes or experiment with something new.
