You may have heard that Foyles is 110 years old this year, but we're not the only ones: George Orwell’s 110th birthday is currently being commemorated by the BBC. In 2013 Penguin are re-releasing some of Orwell’s greatest works (Animal Farm, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Down and Out in Paris and London and Homage to Catalonia) in wonderful retro jackets. This is a great opportunity to celebrate one of our best-loved writers.
With the Oscars coming up fast, we continue our ‘Great Adaptations’ series with Cloud Atlas, The Great Gatsby, Les Miserables and Team of Rivals (Lincoln), all vying for your attention on our shelves. There are plenty more ‘books of the film/TV series/musical’ to be found in store, so whether you’re previewing or catching up with your favourite, there’s plenty for everyone.
