As the owners of vital transport infrastructure and stations, HS1 Ltd is working alongside Transport for London and the Department for Transport on the travel arrangements for the 2012 Games. With less than six months to go to the start of the Games, a new advertising campaign, website and social media channels have been launched to communicate directly with the travelling public. ‘Get Ahead of the Games’ explains how, at certain times and locations – the ‘hotspots’ in London and some the UK’s road and rail networks will be much busier than usual.
HS1 Ltd, along with its partners (including train operators and Network Rail), has been planning travel arrangements for several months - St Pancras International will be one of the hotspots and a key Olympic transport interchange. The high speed 'Javelin' service, which shuttles between HS1 stations at St Pancras International, Stratford and Ebbsfleet, will transport thousands of spectators to and from the Olympic Park on HS1, the UK's only high speed railway line.
