Picnic @ St Pancras

Today, food critic and Great British Menu judge, Matthew Fort, has launched our very own indoor picnic area and unique range of on-the-go, ergonomic picnic hampers, perfect for the modern traveller.

Fortnum & Mason, Le Pain Quotidien and Sourced Market have carefully curated offerings with favourites including award winning Bath Blue cheese and rare Roast Glenarm Salt-Aged Beef. The exclusive selection will be available at the station throughout summer 2016.

The full picnic hamper range includes:

  • Sourced Market Picnic Bag for four, £58.75

  • Le Pain Quotidien, £13 (including free cool bag)

  • Fortnum & Mason The Vegetarian Plate, £15

  • Fortnum & Mason The Ploughman’s Plate, £20

  • Fortnum & Mason The Glenarm Beef Plate, £20

Matthew Fort has also handpicked his hamper favourites from the selection:

  1. Wolff & Evans Mini Scotch Eggs (Sourced Market)

Matthew Fort: 'I'm a sucker for a good Scotch Egg…it’s the perfect picnic food.'

  1. Rare Roast Glenarm Salt-Aged Beef with Horseradish Cream and Cornichons (Fortnum & Mason)

MF: 'The heart of my picnic, mighty, meat, moreish...pick up a warm, crusted baguette from Le Pain to wrap it together with horseradish & cornichons'

  1. Bath Blue cheese (winner of the World Cheese Awards 2014) (Sourced Market)

MF: ‘I've got to have cheese, and Bath Blue, a winner at the World Cheese Awards, spread on the marvellous Peter's Yard Crisp breads is just the ticket.'

  1. Lemon Posset (Fortnum & Mason) or The Organic Granola Parfait (Le Pain Quotidien)

MF: 'Pudding to finish, the posset rich with a tang of lemon, or the parfait crunchy, healthy on a smooth conveyor belt of creamy yoghurt’

  1. Chocolate Napolitains (Fortnum & Mason)

MF: 'Actually, not quite the finish. Time to sit back for a cheerfully indulgent chocolate treat before snoozing away the afternoon.'

Which one will you be trying?
